Reset your iPhone

A hard reset is usually a temporary solution to a software issue. It doesn't change anything; it just forces your iPhone to start from scratch and many times the problem comes back.

2. When the Apple logo reappears, release both buttons.
3. When the iPhone turns back on, the hard reset is complete.

Hard reset on iPhone X or newer

Hard resetting an iPhone X is a little different than other iPhone models.

1. Quickly press thevolume up button.
2. Quickly press thevolume down button.
3. Press and hold the buttonside button.
4. Release the side button when the Apple logo appears in the center of the screen.

Inspect Your iPhone's Cable (Lightning Cable)

Damaged Lightning cables are a common reason for iPhone problems, especially when it comes to charging and transferring data between iPhones and computers.

Electrical cables can be difficult to diagnose because they usually don't break right away when they start to snap. Sometimes, an iPhone will keep charging but not sync data properly or vice versa due to cable construction. Be sure to watch closely as you troubleshoot!

1. Use a flashlight and look closely at both ends of the Lightning cable. These cables can get frayed and frayed, especially on the Lightning connector end.
2. If you don't see any visible signs of damage, try charging your device from a computer's USB port.Emthe wall adapter that came with your iPhone. If your Lightning cable works with one but not the other, the cable isn't the problem.
3. Try charging your device with a friend or family member's Lightning cable. If their cable works and yours doesn't, you've determined the problem is with the Lightning cable.

There are many different ways to charge your iPhone: plug it into your laptop, wall adapter, car charger, and more. As a precaution, your iPhone's software will prevent charging if it detects fluctuations in the power supply.

Inspect Your iPhone's Charging Port (Lightning Port)

You need your Lightningport akaloading port,to make sure it's clean. Lint, dirt, and other debris can prevent the Lightningport from properly connecting to the Lightning cable. A clogged Lightning port can also “trick” newer iPhones (without headphone jacks) into thinking headphones are connected. This may cause your iPhone to get stuck in headphone mode.

If something goes wrong while trying to fix your iPhone, backing it up means you won't lose your data (like contacts, photos, apps, and more). Restoring from a backup is much more convenient than re-entering all the information stored on your iPhone.

Backup your iPhone with iCloud

1. If you have a WiFi connection, you can backup your iPhone using iCloud.

6. Make sure the option is nextBackup do iCloudis enabled. You know the switch is on when the switch is onvegetables.

Back up your iPhone with iTunes

1. Plug the Lightning connector of your Lightning cable (charging cable) into the Lightning port on your iPhone.
2. Plug the other end of the Lightning cable into a USB port on your computer.

4. Click on the iPhone icon in the upper left corner of iTunes.
5. Click the circle next to "iCloud"of"This Computer" to select whether you want to backup your iPhone to iCloud or your computer.

A DFU restore is the last troubleshooting step you can take to rule out a software issue on your iPhone.
